What is the Chemistry Shot hair treatment and how does it work?

I have severely damaged, dry, fine hair that is almost halfway grown out (I used to dye it alot and blow dry every day). I got a trim today and my stylist recommended that I come in for a “Chemistry shot” treatment. I’m thinking about doing this because I’m pretty desperate now, but I’m wondering if anyone has had it done to their hair before and whether it helped or not. (btw, I think it’s made by Redken). Thanks!
